Jealous Fruits is The Grande Finale of the North American Cherry Season
Cherries are fruits that do not ripen further after being picked, so they need to be harvested when they are fully grown and have the desired taste, size, and color. As cherries ripen on the tree, they become sweeter and change color. It is best to harvest them when they have enough sugar and have the right colour of the skin.
Jealous Fruits has earned the reputation of being the “Grand Finale” of the North American cherry season. Our harvest comes to market well after other North American farming areas like Washington and Oregon do. The supreme quality of our late-ripening fruit at the very end of the season makes Jealous Fruits cherries even more special.
Our orchards are located at 50 degrees north latitude in British Columbia’s pristine Okanagan Valley. We are, in effect, the most northerly large-scale cherry producer in North America. Jealous Fruits cherry orchards are also planted at various altitude levels, thereby elongating our harvest season well into September.
We continually evaluate sites that will further extend our season. Our firm presently has test plantings and weather stations sited on a 100-acre block at 2600 feet. Harvest on this site will run until mid-September.
Proudly Canadian, Jealous Fruits is adored by consumers because Canadian farming practices are trustworthy, and we are recognized for integrity.
